§7 · organizer

Organizer MaOO

A year-5 solo organizer. 4 years at a culture foundation → went solo in 2024 with 12–16 local-store collabs.

About

I’ve organized neighborhood events in Mullae for five years. After four years on a culture foundation’s planning team building big events, I went solo in spring 2024 and started Maeuljin. Twice a year, spring and autumn — the people who live here and the owners who work here, playing together for a day or two.

I visited every one of the 12–16 booths in person, talked with the owners, and invited them. The 5–8 programs are built with bands, studios, and educators who’ve been steady in the neighborhood. No big stage. The alley and a small square are enough.

Volunteering opens from D-7. First-timers welcome. Meals, a gift, and a wrap dinner provided.

A word from the organizer

“No big stage. We gather in a corner of the alley ___ two days of a neighborhood we made together. Unhurried and slow, but precise — every owner, every guest, safe.”

§9 · FAQ

Frequently asked

Entry, booking, pets, transit, volunteering, and more — six in all.

A. Entry is free. Some workshops need pre-booking with a separate KRW 10k–30k (materials and tools included). Food and craft booths price separately and take payment on site.

A. Workshop pre-booking is open until D-3, ending early if a session fills. If no payment message arrives within 24 hours, it auto-cancels. Apply via the §10 form or the Kakao channel.

A. Pets are fine in the open square and alley (leash or carrier required). Some workshop and food booth interiors are restricted — follow each booth’s guidance. Please bring waste bags.

A. Light rain runs as normal (tents go up). For a typhoon or heavy rain the festival is cancelled — pre-bookings refund 100% and volunteer hours still count. Notice goes out D-1 via Kakao and social.

A. First-timers welcome. Recruiting opens D-7; after applying there’s a D-3 orientation (video + pledge), and 4-hour shifts are arranged at sign-up. Meals, a gift, and a dinner are provided.

A. Twice a year (spring and autumn), two days (Sat·Sun) in the alley and small square. Next dates appear in the nav D-day chip and the Kakao/social channels; newsletter subscribers get a D-30 reminder.
