A word from the guide
Going somewhere new for the first time, having someone beside you changes how it feels.
I walk every course twice myself. Walking your steps first is how I keep us from losing the way together.
Not fast. But every day, without fail, one step at a time, together.

About the guide · solo curation

Guide GilOO

A year-7 solo guide, KR + JP licensed. 4 years guiding at an agency → solo since 2023.

About

I started guiding in 2019. For four years at an agency I worked with all kinds of groups, and in spring 2023 I opened Giljabi and went solo.

I walk every course twice myself — once scouting, once as the guest would. A course isn’t done until the second walk is. That’s why I keep it to eight.

Domestic is 8 courses departing from the Gahoe-dong office; Japan is a few license-based courses by arrangement. No course departs unless 4 people gather.

A word from the guide
Travel isn’t about arriving — it’s about walking together.
Even when people of different paces share a course, there’s a short bit of free time each day, fitted to each.
If one scene stays clear with you on the way home, that course was well made.

How it runs

Four core principles — booking, cancellation, insurance, refund. Full terms in the footer links.

B
Booking

Pay after choosing course, date, and headcount. 30% deposit, balance at D-30. Under 4 means cancel + 100% refund or reschedule.

Payments via Toss Payments
X
Cancellation

100% by D-30, 50% by D-15, 30% by D-7, none on the day. Guide cause or force majeure: 100%.

Refund within 7 business days
I
Insurance

Mandatory, domestic or abroad. Use the guide’s suggested insurer or your own. Proof due by D-7.

No proof = no departure; refund per cancellation policy
R
Refund / change

If the guide changes the schedule, only the cost difference is settled. Mere change of mind isn’t refundable; medical/family causes are discussed.

Post-trip claims within 14 business days

Frequently asked

Booking, flights, meals, language, pets, and more — six in all.

Flights are separate, but the guide shares airline, timing, and price suggestions. Booking yourself is recommended (miles/payment your way). For Japan courses the guide can group-book on request.
It varies. Food courses (Busan, Jeonju, Yeosu) include 5 group dinners + 4 breakfasts. Lunch and some dinners are free (with guide picks). See the pricing & inclusions section.
Yes. A Japanese-certified guide accompanies you and all communication is in Korean. Hotel/restaurant bookings and check-ins are handled by the guide; for free time, phrase cards and apps are provided.
If under 4 by D-15, the departure is cancelled with a 100% refund or moved to the next date. A solo guide does not run a sub-4 departure for cost and safety reasons.
Pets aren’t allowed on group courses (hotel/restaurant/transport constraints). A solo or small custom trip can be arranged with pet-friendly venues only.
The guide is with you 24h. In an emergency: local 119/ambulance + insurer + family contact. Travel insurance is mandatory for all guests; the guide is first-aid trained.
